ARI’s SAFE® safety valves are designed to protect pressurised systems by automatically relieving excess pressure, ensuring safe operation of vessels, pipelines, and equipment. These valves are
suitable for a wide range of media, including steam, gases, and liquids, and are manufactured in accordance with international standards such as EN ISO 4126 and AD 2000.
Safety valves are essential in systems where overpressure can lead to equipment damage, downtime, or hazardous situations. Typical applications include:
-
Steam boilers, where the safety valve releases pressure to prevent rupture during system failure or overheating.
-
Compressed air systems, where excess pressure from faulty regulators or blocked lines is vented safely.
-
Thermal oil and hot water installations, where pressure buildup due to thermal expansion must be controlled.
-
Cryogenic gas storage, where valves protect against pressure rise during ambient temperature exposure.
Constructed for long-term reliability, the SAFE® valves feature robust housings, high seat tightness — ensuring a secure seal with minimal leakage when closed — and low blow-down, meaning the
valve closes again shortly after the system pressure returns below the set point, avoiding unnecessary medium loss.
These valves can be configured to suit a wide range of capacities and pressure classes. Standard models include:
-
SAFE 920: For general industrial applications, with options for angle or straight design and full or normal lift.
-
SAFE 960/970: High-performance safety valves for steam, gas, and aggressive media, with precision-guided spindles and metal or
soft seat sealing.
-
SAFE-T and SAFE-P: TÜV-certified versions for steam boilers and pressure vessels in accordance with PED/CE marking
requirements.
Common specifications include:
-
Set pressure range: from 0.2 bar up to 40 bar depending on valve type and material.
-
Nominal sizes: from DN15 to DN150, covering small utility lines to large process installations.
-
Sealing options: metal-to-metal for high temperatures, or soft-seated (e.g. EPDM, PTFE) for tight shut-off in gas or chemical
service.
-
Discharge characteristics: full lift for maximum flow rate, normal lift for controlled release.
-
Testing and certification: Available with TÜV, ASME, PED, and other international approvals.
These safety valves are engineered for precise operation, minimal leakage, and long service life, even under high cycling and harsh operating conditions.

ARI’s TEMPTROL® series consists of self-acting temperature control valves designed to regulate the flow of steam, hot water, or thermal oil based on temperature — without requiring electricity or
compressed air. The valve is controlled by a thermostat that expands or contracts in response to temperature changes, adjusting the valve position accordingly.
These valves are ideal for:
-
Tank heating systems, where steam or thermal oil flow needs to be reduced once the set temperature is reached.
-
Heat exchangers, to maintain a stable outlet temperature regardless of load fluctuations.
-
Jacketed piping or reactors, where overheating could damage sensitive media.
-
Maritime applications, such as lube oil preheaters or fuel treatment systems, where reliability without electronics is
critical.
TEMPTROL® valves are fully mechanical and highly reliable. Because they are self-operating, they are often used in remote or fail-safe systems where automation is not practical or allowed. The
thermostat responds to fluid or surface temperature, and adjusts the valve opening without external control signals.
Key features of the ARI TEMPTROL® include:
-
Valve sizes: Available from DN15 to DN50, making them ideal for small to medium process lines.
-
Setpoint range: Thermostats can be selected for ranges between 0°C and 150°C, depending on medium and application.
-
Function types:
-
-
Closing with rising temperature (direct acting) — ideal for heating control
-
Opening with rising temperature (reverse acting) — used for cooling systems
-
Sensor types: Capillary or immersion bulbs, available in copper, stainless steel, or brass, depending on compatibility.
-
Installation: Simple inline installation, with thermostatic elements mounted directly or remotely depending on access and
response time requirements.
-
Control accuracy: ±2 to ±5 °C depending on sensor type and medium flow rate.
The valve bodies are made of bronze or stainless steel, and can be supplied with threaded or flanged connections. Maintenance is minimal, and replacement of the thermostatic cartridge is
straightforward.
These self-acting temperature control valves are ideal for applications where simplicity, reliability, and autonomy are key, especially in environments where electricity is not permitted or
available.

ARI’s FABA® shut-off valves are globe-type stop valves designed to safely isolate steam, liquids, gases, and thermal oil in industrial and marine systems. Their durable construction, tight
sealing, and straightforward maintenance make them ideal for use in power plants, chemical processing, district heating systems, and marine engine rooms.
These valves are commonly used in:
-
Steam pipelines, to isolate system sections during inspection or emergency shutdown.
-
District heating, where flow to specific building zones or heat exchangers needs to be controlled.
-
Thermal oil systems, which require components that can withstand high pressures and temperatures over time.
-
Shipboard systems, where vibrations, temperature swings, and limited access demand robust and compact solutions.
-
Safety-related shut-off in critical process media such as oxygen, hydrogen, ammonia, or cooling brines.
FABA® valves operate according to the globe valve principle, where a movable disc (also called a plug) is pressed against a fixed seat to block flow. This allows for gradual opening and closing,
reducing the risk of sudden pressure surges (commonly called water hammer), which can damage equipment.
The tight shut-off provided by the FABA® series ensures that virtually no medium leaks through the valve when it’s closed — even under full system pressure. This is essential for both safety and
efficiency, especially in systems carrying steam or hazardous fluids.
The FABA® product line includes multiple configurations tailored to specific applications. The most widely used versions are FABA®-Plus and FABA®-Supra, which offer distinct performance
advantages depending on the system requirements.
-
The FABA®-Plus is the standard shut-off valve for general applications. It includes a back-seat seal, which means the valve stem
can be repacked (i.e. the gland packing replaced) while the system is still pressurised — a major advantage in continuous process environments where downtime must be kept to a minimum.
-
The FABA®-Supra is designed for higher performance, featuring a reinforced body and the option of a pressure-balanced plug. This
design equalises pressure on both sides of the plug, so significantly less force is needed to open or close the valve. This is particularly useful for large valves or high-pressure lines
where manual or actuator force is limited.
-
Both versions are available in straight-through and angle body designs to accommodate space and layout constraints.
-
FABA® valves are also available with bellow sealing for zero-emission shut-off and increased protection in hazardous
environments.
These variants give engineers the flexibility to select the right valve type based on pressure class, maintenance conditions, and actuation method.
To meet a wide range of operational requirements, ARI offers FABA® valves in numerous sizes, pressure ratings, and material combinations. The technical configuration can be adapted to fit
existing systems or customised for new installations.
-
Nominal sizes: DN15 to DN300
-
Pressure ratings: PN16 to PN160
-
Temperature range: up to 550 °C, depending on material and sealing configuration
-
Connection types: Flanged, butt weld, socket weld, or threaded
-
Body materials: Cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, or special alloys for aggressive or high-temperature media
-
Operation: Manual handwheel, electric actuator, or pneumatic actuator — fully compatible with ARI’s PREMIO® and DP actuator
series
-
Flow direction can be selected to optimise sealing performance or extend seat service life, depending on media
conditions.
FABA® valves are modular in design, which means the valve body, bonnet, stem, seat, and plug can all be accessed and replaced individually. This greatly reduces downtime during servicing.
Optional add-ons include stroke limiters (which restrict how far the valve can open or close), position indicators, and locking devices for process safety.
The valves are factory-tested and leak-tested according to EN 12266-1, and available with third-party certifications such as PED, SIL, and TA-Luft compliance.
These shut-off valves are designed for long service life and dependable performance in both static and dynamic conditions. Their combination of precision engineering and practical maintainability
makes them a solid choice for new installations as well as retrofit projects.

ARI’s STEVI® control valves are high-performance globe valves designed for precise flow regulation of steam, water, gases, refrigerants, and thermal oil in demanding industrial and marine
systems. These valves combine robust construction with a modular, service-friendly design, making them ideal for use in process plants, HVAC systems, ships, power generation, and thermal oil
installations.
Typical applications include:
-
Steam and condensate lines, where flow needs to be modulated for temperature or pressure control.
-
Boiler feedwater systems, often in 3-way or bypass configurations, to maintain stable water levels.
-
District heating networks, to balance temperature between branches or consumer stations.
-
Process automation, where fast and accurate regulation is needed under varying load conditions.
STEVI® valves are built around a shaft-guided plug, supported by double guiding for extra stability. This reduces vibration and ensures consistent control even under high differential pressures.
The stem design is blow-out proof, meaning the stem cannot be ejected under pressure, which adds a layer of mechanical safety.
To meet different installation requirements, ARI offers several STEVI® subtypes, each with its own strengths:
-
STEVI® Pro (Series 470/471/422/462) is the most powerful version, designed for high pressures and temperatures up to 530 °C.
These valves are available in pressure ratings up to PN160, with options for heat-resistant cast steel, butt-weld ends, and perforated or V-port trims to reduce flow noise and optimise
control. Internal parts such as plug and seat are fully replaceable.
-
STEVI® Vario (Series 448/449) is a more compact variant, featuring a 360° rotatable actuator housing and up to 25% reduced
installation height and weight. A built-in manual override allows operation even in the event of actuator failure, making it suitable for confined installations where accessibility and
flexibility are important.
-
STEVI® Smart (Series 440/441/425/426) is a classic and economical model with up to 30:1 rangeability, offering stable modulation
in both linear and equal-percentage flow profiles. It is available in standard 2-way and 3-way configurations and supports leakage class IV sealing as standard.
-
STEVI® 3-Way valves (Series 450/451/453) are designed for mixing or diverting duties. These include dual-seat ring mixing plugs
or diverting plugs for flow splitting, and are commonly used in boiler systems and thermal oil circuits with bypass control options.
All STEVI® variants share the same core benefit: a modular body construction that allows easy in-line maintenance. Trim components — such as the plug, stem, and seat ring — can be replaced
without removing the valve from the line.
STEVI® valves offer extensive configurability to match a wide variety of industrial needs:
-
Sizes: DN15 to DN300 (selected models available up to DN500)
